Online Drivers

Seeing which of your active drivers are signed in to the driver app right now, and forcing a driver (or everyone) to log out.

Operations → Online Drivers is the quick answer to "is this driver actually on their phone right now?" It lists every active driver on one screen with a live online/offline light next to their name, and it's the one place where you can push a driver — or your whole fleet — out of the driver app.

It's a presence board, not a route board. It tells you who is reachable in the app; it doesn't tell you where they are or how far into their route they've gotten.

What "Online" actually means

The driver app on a driver's phone checks in with VoiceERP in the background while it's running. If VoiceERP has heard from that phone recently, the driver shows Online with a green dot. If it hasn't, the driver shows Offline with a gray dot.

A few things that follow from that:

  • The signal comes from the installed driver app, not from Amazon route data and not from the browser version of the driver app. A driver who only ever signs in through a browser will sit at Offline here even while they're working.

  • iPhones are allowed a noticeably longer quiet gap than Android phones before they flip to Offline, because iOS is stricter about what apps may do in the background. A driver can look Online on an iPhone for a while after they've actually put the phone down.

  • Offline usually means the app was closed, the phone lost signal, or the driver signed out — not that anything is wrong. Treat a fleet-wide wall of Offline as the exception worth chasing, not a single name.

Only drivers whose status is Active appear on this page. Anyone who is inactive, or still working through onboarding, won't be in the list.

Reading the table

Four columns, and that's deliberately all:

  • Driver Name — pinned to the left so it stays visible while you scroll.

  • Status — Online, Offline, or a temporary "Logging out…" while a logout you triggered is in flight.

  • Phone Number — the number on file, or N/A if the driver doesn't have one. That's your cue to fix their profile, since a driver with no number can't be texted or called.

  • Actions — the three-dot menu, covered below.

The search box at the top filters by driver name as you type, and you can sort by any column header. If the grid says No drivers found, either your search matched nothing or you have no active drivers yet.

How fresh the numbers are

The page refreshes itself roughly every 30 seconds, so you can leave it open on a second monitor during dispatch and watch drivers come online as they start their day. If you don't want to wait, the Refresh button at the top pulls both the driver list and the online statuses again immediately.

Forcing a driver to log out

Open the three-dot menu on a driver's row and choose Force Logout. That signs the driver out of the driver app on their phone, ends their session, and pushes the logout down to the device so it takes effect right away — they'll have to sign in again to keep using the app. Use it when a phone was lost or handed off, when someone left mid-week, or when a driver is stuck in a bad app state and needs a clean sign-in.

If VoiceERP has no active device registered for that driver, you'll get a notice saying so instead of a success message. Nothing breaks; there was simply nothing to sign out.

Log Out All Drivers, the red button next to Refresh, does the same thing for everyone currently showing Online. It asks you to confirm first, telling you exactly how many drivers it's about to log out, and warns that they'll be logged out of their mobile devices immediately. When it finishes you'll see a count of how many were logged out, how many had no active device, and how many failed, so you know whether to retry. The button stays disabled when nobody is online.

Where else this number shows up

The same online/offline signal feeds the Drivers Online check on your dashboard ("Active drivers currently online in the driver app," split into online now and offline), and the Online Drivers and % Rostered Online tiles on the Rostering page, which narrow it to the drivers on that day's roster — a useful morning read on how much of your roster is actually booted up.
