The station geofence is a circle around your station: a pin on the map plus a radius in meters. Zap, the driver app, uses it for one thing, which is signing drivers out at the end of the day.
What the geofence controls
It affects two things:
Automatic end-of-day sign-out. After your end-of-day start time, a driver whose phone comes into the circle is signed out of Zap 30 minutes later. If they leave the circle before then, the sign-out is cancelled.
Logging out by hand. A driver who taps Logout in Zap has to be inside the circle.
The geofence doesn't affect signing in, going online, or anything else in Zap.
"You're currently not within your station's area"
A driver who taps Logout outside the circle sees Can't log out: "You're currently not within your station's area, so you can't log out." Two related messages:
If Zap doesn't have location permission, the driver sees "Allow location access to log out."
If Zap couldn't read the location, the driver sees "We couldn't check your location. Please try again."
If a driver really does need to be signed out away from the station, sign them out yourself with Force Logout on Operations → Online Drivers.
Where the station location is set
You set the geofence during onboarding, in the Onboarding Hub's driver app step, under Automatic end-of-day logouts:
Paste a Google Maps link to your station into Google Maps link to your station, or tap the map to drop the pin.
Set Geofence radius (meters).
Under When logouts start, set When automatic logouts start to about the time your routes usually wrap up. Before that time, drivers who enter the geofence stay signed in.
There's no geofence setting under Settings in VoiceERP. To move the pin, change the radius, or change the start time after you've gone live, contact VoiceERP support.
What drivers see on iPhone
On iPhone, Zap's settings have a Location-based Auto Log Off panel. It shows the station location and says "Automatically log off when returning to a location after your route."
If your company hasn't set a location yet, it reads "Ask your manager to set a log off location for your company."
A driver can switch auto log off off. Zap then warns that their account may stay active longer than intended, and that they should log off by hand when they're done.
