Settings → Drivers is where your roster is managed: every driver's status, their details, and the company-wide switches that decide who gets scheduled and who can sign in. If you're connected to Cortex, a banner at the top reminds you that driver data is pulled in automatically and that manual edits here can be overwritten.
The five statuses
Across the top of the page, five cards count your roster by status. Click one to filter the list below it; click it again to clear the filter.
Active is a driver currently working for you. They're included when a schedule is generated, they count toward coverage, and they can be assigned shifts by hand.
Onboarding is someone who has been hired but hasn't started yet, pulled in from Cortex's Onboarding tab once you switch that sync on. They appear on your roster early so you can set their scheduling preferences and hand-assign them shifts, but automatic schedule generation skips them until they start.
Suspended is a label you apply to an inactive driver who you expect back — out sick, on leave, mid-investigation. The chip reads "Suspended until Mar 4" when you've given a return date, or just "Suspended" when you haven't.
Inactive is the neutral resting state for anyone Cortex reports as not currently working. Inactive drivers are left out of schedules entirely and don't count toward coverage.
Offboarded means the driver has left. This one is set for you — drivers who appear on Cortex's Offboarding page are marked Offboarded automatically, and there is no manual offboarded option.
Changing a status
Every inactive driver who hasn't been offboarded gets a Manage status button on their row. It opens a short dialog with two choices:
Suspended — expected back, with an optional Anticipated return date. The date must be after today in your company's timezone.
Inactive, the default. Choosing it clears an existing suspension label.
Nothing is preselected, so saving is always a deliberate choice. To handle several people at once, tick their checkboxes in the grid and use the Manage Status button in the bar that appears at the bottom; the bar tells you how many of your selected rows are actually inactive and ignores the rest. Each driver is saved independently, so if one fails you're told exactly who by name and the others still go through.
The same button also appears in the schedule builder, on the panel that opens when you click a driver's name — handy when you're building a week and spot someone greyed out.
What a suspension actually does
This is the part worth knowing. A suspension with a return date puts the driver back into scheduling and coverage counts from that day onward, before Cortex reactivates them — so you can plan a week around someone returning on Wednesday. If the date passes and they still haven't come back, the label clears itself and admins subscribed to Driver Inactivity Alerts are notified.
A suspension without a date changes nothing about scheduling. The driver stays out until Cortex reactivates them; the label simply records that they're expected back so nobody has to remember why.
Onboarding associates
If you're connected to Cortex, two independent switches sit above the roster:
Sync onboarding associates creates driver accounts for people on Cortex's Onboarding tab so you can schedule them before their start date. New accounts arrive with the Onboarding status.
Allow driver app and home app access for onboarding associates lets those people sign in to the driver app and the voiceERP at Home app before they start. It's kept separate on purpose — you can plan around a new hire without giving them the apps yet.
Under Scheduling → Configuration, an onboarding driver's preferences can be set normally, but their "Schedulable as driver" switch is locked with a note explaining that it turns on by itself once they finish onboarding. One thing to watch: a shift you hand-assign to an onboarding driver won't produce a daily roster row or a shift confirmation call until they've started, so confirm those first days directly.
Editing a driver's details
The pencil icon on a row opens Edit Driver: name, phone number, matching aliases (other spellings of their name used to match imported data), a Driver Status dropdown, language, and a checkbox to mark them temporarily ineligible for incentives with a reason the driver can see. On Cortex companies there's also a Disable Cortex auto-sync for this driver checkbox, for the rare person whose record you want to hold by hand. Drivers who came in from an import and haven't been reviewed yet open a Verify Driver Details dialog instead.
Above the grid you can Add New Driver, Upload Drivers from CSV File (Netradyne, payroll, or the VoiceERP template), and Download all drivers.

Settings → Other holds the Driver App Settings tile: Driver login reminders texts drivers who've been given a work phone but haven't signed in yet, and Driver Multi week Views adds a week picker in the driver app so drivers can look at weeks other than the current one.
